In this 5 week course (each session is 2.5 hours) Julia will take you through some basic skills to help your creative practice grow focusing on how to see subjects with the eye of an artist.

During the course we will work across a range of media including charcoal, acrylic, watercolour and ink to create a range of studies touching on composition, value, colour and form.  We will be working from observation with plenty of opportunity for freedom of expression.

By the end of the course you will be able to approach your preferred subject and media with a new sense of direction and confidence. 

Julia Rigby

Julia is an artist and designer who loves to explore colour and different techniques in her quest to create truly original artworks. Many of her designs have been published as cards for the National Trust and she has appeared on Landscape Artist of the Year as a Wildcard in 2023. In 2024 she was a best selling artist on Artfinder and in 2026 her work was featured in Artists and Illustrators Magazine.
